Certified Veterinary Technician Coral Ware has been with Bethany Animal Hospital since August of 2006. She began her career in the animal care field in 2004. Throughout her time at Bethany she has not only gained valuable skills and knowledge but has also been certified as a Fear Free Professional.
Coral says that she tries each day to bring her charisma and keen sense of humor to her work and that she believes the staff she works with is amazing.
Her pets include an energetic dog named Zarianna and five cats: Cat, Fader, Boss, Twitch and Gremlin. Coral’s interests include gardening, anything DIY, homesteading and anything with her husband Kevin and her family and friends.
Jodie Jeskie is a Certified Veterinary Technician and Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner. She has been with Bethany Animal Hospital since March of 2009, but began her career in the animal care field in 2007. She is licensed in the state of Illinois and earned her degree at Joliet Junior College. Jodie is also a Certified Canine Rehabilitation practitioner certified through The University of Tennessee in 2014. Her patient and calm demeanor are keys to providing excellent care through our Canine Rehabilitation Center.
She says that client education is an important aspect of her work. She loves working with the Rehab patients and finds it rewarding to see them recover or improve from whatever condition was ailing them.
Jodie has two English Pointers, Owen and Willie. She is also a big fan of mystery books and has a great sense of humor.
Certified Veterinary Technician Tara Burgess joined our team in June 2015. Her responsibilities include drawing blood, taking X-Rays, and communicating with our clients. Her favorite on-the-job duty is performing dental cleanings.
“Every day is different, so you never know what is going to walk in the door,” she says. “I get to learn something new almost every day.”
Tara earned her Associate's degree in Applied Science from Rockford Career College in 2012. She previously worked as a CVT at the Banfield Pet Hospital in Aurora.
She is the proud pet parent of Snickers the 12-year-old Miniature Pinscher, Rosie the miniature Dachshund, and Millie the guinea pig. In her free time she enjoys crafting, cooking, reading, and knitting.
Technician Assistant Donnie Gibson has been with Bethany Animal Hospital since November of 2007, and is always ready to help out around the hospital.
When asked what he enjoys most about his work, he says, “I learn something new every day and I work with great people.”
In his free time Donnie spends time with his daughter, Zelda, and their animals. His interests include working around his house and playing games.
Mary Beth Dummer is a Surgery Assistant/Technician Assistant who has been with Bethany Animal Hospital since June of 2006. She is also a certified Pharmacy Tech and Physical Therapy Aide, and is currently attending school for a degree in forensics.
She says that, “Bethany Animal Hospital puts its patients as its top priority. Friendly staff and great company make this the only job I’ve had that I enjoy going to every day.”
At home, she says she has what she describes as a spoiled Pekingese named Ebony Rose. Mary Beth’s interests include reading, hiking, computers and living life to the fullest. "If I get bored, then I'm not doing enough."
Michelle Rood joined Bethany Animal Hospital in February 2012 after six years as a zookeeper. As a veterinary assistant, Michelle's responsibilities include client education, filling prescriptions, and taking x-rays. She is also a Certified Nutrition Counselor and is in charge of Bethany Animal Hospital's weight loss program.
At work, she appreciates learning something new every day and meeting new people. Michelle has a bachelor's degree in biology.
In her free time, she enjoys hiking, kayaking, and fishing with her husband Joe. She also likes reading and watching movies. Michelle and Joe recently welcomed their son, Henry, and share their home with three pets: Molly, a dachshund, Aspen, a pit bull mix, and Lily, a cat.
Veterinary Assistant Emily Szoke joined Bethany Animal Hospital in June 2014. Her responsibilities include assisting our veterinarians during examinations, communicating with our clients, taking X-rays and caring for hospitalized patients. Emily received her veterinary assistant training at Kishwaukee College and is currently studying to become a certified veterinary technician.
“Everyone at the hospital is super nice and helpful,” she says. “You can tell that we really care for all of our patients and clients.”
Emily has two dumbo rats named Rosie and Vera. In her free time she enjoys reading, camping and tennis.
Monica Silva is a Certified Veterinary Technician. She received her associate's degree in applied science and veterinary technology from Fox College in 2014. After graduating, she went on to earn her license to work in Illinois. Since then, she's worked in Chicago and Oklahoma before joining the team at Bethany Small Animal Hospital.
Monica says, "working with animals is my passion and a dream come true." She and her husband have a pit bull mix named Butters and an Australian shepherd mix named Luna. Outside of work, Monica enjoys reading, spending time with her family, going to the dog park, dancing and watching Disney movies.
Veterinary Assistant Jackie Wyatt, has been working at Bethany Animal Hospital since the fall of 2015. Her main responsibilities are caring for hospitalized patients and assisting doctors during different examinations and procedures. Jackie’s greatest attributes are her caring personality and her dedication to her work, and says that her favorite part of the job is “helping as many animals as we can.” Jackie says that every day is a learning lesson, and that she loves the caring people she works with.
At home, Jackie has two pets: a 4-year-old Chihuahua named Chloe and a 10-year-old cat named Bear. Outside of work, Jackie loves spending time with her husband, Tyler, and her family.
Caitlyn Becker joined Bethany Animal Hospital in September of 2016. She works as a Veterinary Technician Assistant assisting the Doctors and Co-workers in providing quality care to the patients. As a student of Rockford Career College, she is working towards being a certified Veterinary Technician. She feels that her schooling keeps her current on new and changing ideas and helps her to enjoy all aspects of her job.
"I like working at Bethany Animal Hospital specifically because the technicians are excellent at maintaining a low-stress environment for the patients. The friendly staff has a close, family type of connection and it makes for a great work environment."
Caitlyn loves to spend time with her nine animals. She has three dogs, one rabbit, one hedgehog, one tortoise, one leopard gecko, one fish and one Cockatiel. She also enjoys hiking, camping, traveling or anything that puts her in touch with nature.
